This ancient Roman city, founded in 206 BC, remains remarkably intact and is one of the finest examples of Roman urban life outside of Italy. Walk along the paved Roman road toward the 25,000-seat amphitheater, much of which remains standing. Mosaic tiles are still perfectly intact on the floors of several buildings and statues of Emperor Trajan and the goddess Venus continue to keep watch over the city. Located just minutes outside of Seville, Italica should be a stop on any history lover's tour.
