Huaqing Pool

30km (18.6 miles) east of Xi'an and beside the Terracotta Army, Huaqing Pool features the Imperial Pools of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), Pear Garden, Frost Flying Hall, Nine-Dragon Lake, Five-Room Building and Mount Li. Huaqing Pool is famous for the romantic love story of Tang Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Yuhuan.

Terracotta Army

The Terracotta Army in Xi'an, aka Terracotta Warriors and Horses, is a super large collection of life-size terra cotta sculptures in battle formations, reproducing the mega imperial guard troops of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (259 - 210BC), the first emperor of the first unified dynasty of Imperial China.

Xi'an Ming City Wall

Xi'an City Wall, also known as the Fortifications of Xi'an, is the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.

Drum Tower

The Drum Tower is located northwest of the Bell Tower of Xi'an, across the Bell and Drum Tower Square.Both of them are called the 'sister buildings' or 'morning bell and dark drum'. In ancient China, especially from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), the drums were used to signal the running of time and on occasion were used as an alarm in emergency situations.

Giant Wild Goose Pagoda

As the symbol of the old-line Xi'an, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (also called Big Wild Goose Pagoda) is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. It is located in the southern suburb of Xi'an City, about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the downtown of the city.Standing in the Da Ci'en Temple complex, it attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion and its simple but appealing style of construction. Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is rated as a National Key Cultural Relic Preserve as well as an AAAA Tourist Attraction.In addition, it was added to the World Heritage List on June 22, 2014, together with other sites along the ancient  Silk Road.

Tang Paradise

Near the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Paradise is located in the Qujiang Resort, southeast of the Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province.The site covers a total area of 1000 mu (about 165 acres) and of which 300 mu (about 49 acres) is water. This attraction not only claims to be the biggest cultural theme park in the northwest region of China but also the first royal-garden-like park to give a full display of the Tang Dynasty 's (618-907) culture. Altogether, twelve scenic regions are distributed here to provide visitors with the enjoyment of twelve cultural themes and a perfect exhibition of the grandness, prosperity and brilliance of the culture of the Tang Dynasty.

Appreciate the Statue of Mother Yellow River

Here comes another Lanzhou landmark for tourists to take souvenirs photos.Since the Yellow River is the cradle of Chinese civilization, this statue personifies the Yellow River as a mother and Chinese people as a baby who nestles on her right. The statue is so lifelike that tourists could tell the mother's eyes are brimming with love. What is more, the entire statue is made from yellow granite, which symbolizes both the muddy Yellow River color and Chinese's skin color.

Zhongshan Bridge over the Yellow River

Zhongshan Bridge, also known as the First Bridge over the Yellow River, is a very impressive Lanzhou landmark. It is now only open to pedestrians, thus tourists may safely stroll along the bridge or take souvenir photos on it.Standing here, one could see the flowing Yellow River, as well as the cityscape and the White Pagoda Park on both sides. It is more recommended to come here in the evening, because Zhongshan Bridge shows a more distinct outline in the colorful light. Besides, near the bridge, dock many ships selling tea and beer.Drinking and chatting with friends by the river is a really relaxing thing to do in Lanzhou.

Extending along the northern slope of Qilian Mountain in west China, Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park in Gansu is the best representative of China's colorful Danxia landform and the largest Danxia landscape in an arid area, with a wide variety of landforms.Undulating fiery-red ridges together with amazing multicolored mountain folds transform the park into an immense sea of fire with rolling waves, earning it the reputation of China's Rainbow Mountains and also one of the 'Top 10 Geographical Wonders of the World' selected by the National Geographic.

jiayuguan Great Wall

Jiayuguan is a pass standing at the western end of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall.Different from the well-known sections built with stones or bricks, Jiayuguan Great Wall was built with rammed earth, making yellow its dominant hue and helping the pass blend harmoniously with the surrounding desert. The city where the pass is located is named after the pass, also called Jiayuguan, sitting in China's northwest Gansu Province.

Crescent Spring

Ghost Town of the World

The "Ghost Town" in the desert is situated in Wuerhe, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) away from Karamay city, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and takes an area of 100,000 sq meters (10 hectares).Being one of the few typical wind erosion physiognomies in the world, the Ghost City has become a famous tourist area for its unique landform and the howling wind.
